in 1991, the first group of students admitted to associate degree programs in disease control and family health was enrolled.
In 2004, with the independence of the School of Health, the Department of Public Health was established, and some years later, a discontinuous bachelor's degree program in public health (in 2009) and a continuous bachelor's degree in public health (in 2010) were offered by the Department for the first time.

Social Determinants of Health Research Center affiliated with the Department contributes to research on social issues such as addiction, violence, divorce, and mental disorders.
We seek to train specialized workforces providing public health and community health services to improve community health literacy and the lifestyle of all subpopulations in Iran.
1) Recognition of performance in line with the needs of the environment, society, family, and individuals, as well as evaluation of risk factors, interventions, and changes in the status of their respective health;
2) Recognition of how human, environmental, economic, and social factors affect the provision, maintenance, and promotion of health at different levels;
3) Recognition of how to intervene through needs assessments, health education, epidemics control, nutritional care, and change in health indicators related to community health;

1) Educational needs related to risk factors for lifestyle and designing effective interventions in this field;
2) Health education programs and promotion of health literacy in different social classes;
3) The role of women in controlling social harms;
4) Health education interventions in special populations;
5) Identification of cultural and social variables affecting health promotion and designing efficient interventions;
